After Vaginal Tightening

After Vaginoplasty surgery you will have bruising, swelling, and minor discomfort in the groin area. Swelling and bruising will be most noticeable after the first day and will slowly subside over a period of 2 to 3 weeks. Following Vaginal Tightening surgery you may have packing left inside which needs to be removed the following day. You should avoid sexual intercourse for 6 weeks to avoid injuring your healing wounds. You should wash/irrigate with plain water three times a day for the next week. Your stitches will be disolvable, so you do not need to have them removed.

How is Laser Vaginal Tightening unique?

Laser vaginal tightening uses a special laser to create tightening of the vaginal wall. The laser is simply a tool used to help during the surgery. The final outcome, however, is not dependent on the laser but on the surgeon performing the surgery.

Who can benefit from Vaginoplasty?

Vaginal tightening surgery reduces the diameter of the vagina and decreases the size of the vaginal opening. If age and childbirth have stretched your tissues, Kegel exercises have failed, and sexual intercourse is not the same as it used to be, you may benefit from this procedure. Note, however, that tightening the vaginal canal does not automatically guarantee great sex.

How much pain will I have?

Vaginal tightening surgery is surprisingly painless. The inside of the vaginal canal does not perceive pain the same way as your skin does, and thus most patients feel no pain on the inside. There is a very small cut on the outside (usually about 1 cm long) and that is the only feeling of discomfort most patients comment about.
