Cosmetic Surgery and Procedures for Men
Cosmetic surgery is not restricted to only women. Every day more and more men are undergoing cosmetic surgery procedures to correct signs of aging, improve their appearance, and keep their bodies in sync with their youthful souls. It is no longer a given that you have to age gracefully. Gone are the days when men would wear signs of aging as a badge of honour.
As times have changed, so has the public's (and men's) perception of cosmetic treatments. And today we have more and more men coming in, asking what can be done to correct their aging, tired looks. How can we help them reshape that sagging body. How can we give them that extra little spring into their life.
Dr. Jugenburg has utilized his expertise to treat men from all walk of life. From the office warrior, to special forces military to
Ultimate Fighting Championship fighters.

NEWS:
MORE MEN OPTING FOR PLASTIC SURGERY NOT JUST COSMETIC REFRESHERS LIKE BOTOX AND FILLERS.
Even though men are less open to discussing their plastic surgery treatments, recent statistics by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) show that more men are going under the knife. Overall cosmetic plastic surgery procedures in men were up 2 percent in 2010 compared to 2009. However, many male surgical procedures increased significantly such as facelifts rising 14 percent in 2010 while male liposuction increased 7 percent.
2010 ASPS statistics show that men underwent more than 1.1 million cosmetic procedures, both minimally-invasive and surgical. The majority of the top 10 fastest-growing cosmetic procedures for men were surgical in contrast to the previous explosive growth in minimally-invasive treatments. The rise is most likely due to the large number of aging boomers wanting to do something about their appearance. Another trend plastic surgeons see is in men reaching retirement age who want to stay competitive with their younger counterparts in the workplace. They want to look and feel good, and when they have the financial means to do it, they are ready to do it now.
Fastest-Growing Male Cosmetic Procedures by percentage increase in 2010:
1. Facelift – 14% Increase
2. Ear Surgery (Otoplasty) – 11% Increase
3. Soft Tissue Fillers – 10% Increase
4. Botulinum Toxin Type A – 9% Increase

Difference between What Women Want and What MEN Want From Cosmetic Surgery According to the ASPS
The most popular surgical procedure for women (breast augmentation) helps women gain self-esteem by addition. Men, on the other hand, tend to favor more subtle procedures that erase their perceived faults, thus gaining self-esteem through subtraction.
Facelifts, rhinoplasty, otoplasty (ear surgery), and liposuction - all popular plastic surgery procedures for mem- remove either wrinkles, bumps, or fat from the male body. Furthermore, the only cosmetic procedure especially for men, a surgical procedure to correct gynecomastia or enlarged male breasts, also improves by subtraction.
It's no surprise, therefore, that men want procedures with hidden incision points, minimal scarring, and results that elicit a response of: "Have you lost weight?" instead of a response of: "Is that your real nose?" Men's desire for subtlety has even led plastic surgeons to develop variations on common procedures. For instance, a man's facelift is handled quite differently from a woman's, for more subtle and masculine results.
Cosmetic surgery for men continues to grow and gain acceptance. It's not about economics; it's not about class distinctions; it's about self-esteem. As long as plastic surgery solutions remain safe, affordable, and effective, men will continue to "take a little off the top."
